A.N.: Critique wanted!!!   I am currently working on fixing the story up! as of now this is a rough draft. I forgot to mention my grammar (and spelling) are really bad, just a small warning >.< . Warning this also contains gore and blood.

Angel followed the group up the long, dirt trail. The surrounding evergreens, blowing in the wind.  Angel always loved nature, everything about it.  so  naturally she joined a wildness camping trip, it’s a weeklong trip. Mostly visiting an unexplored part of the forest, or so the guide said. The group she’s with had a total of 13 people, including the guide. Farther into the evergreens they went, the more Angel got an a odd feeling.

Angel normally extremely shy, made quick friends with four of the people in the group. Daylen, Mark, Kayla, and Theresa.   They’re all pretty friendly, Daylen and Mark explained how they’ve been friends since grade school. It showed, they both would tell inside jokes and just laugh. Kayla was super laidback, and wanted to be a botanist. Theresa was a bit more high strung and enjoyed outdoor activities.

“So Angel, why did you join this hiking adventure?” Kayla asks,  the five of them lagging at the back of the group. “Oh, well I really like being out in nature. I’ve never done this before, so yeah. Pretty much starting that bucket list.“ She explained, feeling a bit awkward with her own response. “I feel ya, yeah these woods are pretty cool. …And ….odd” Kayla says looking at the tall trees that towered everything.

“Odd? How so?! They look just like any other woods to me!” Daylen prods, looking at around the forest to see if anything is out of place. “It’s just that most forests in this area, tend to have more…..hmmm greenery we’ll say.” Kayla replies, shrugging.

“Oh yeah, I see what you mean. Maybe there was a drought in this area?” Mark says, kicking the dirt trail. “I can see that” Angel quietly agrees, the wind picking up slightly. “ALRIGHT EVERYONE, IT’S ALMOST NIGHT TIME. LET’S SET UP OUR CAMP!!”  The Guide shouts to the group, They find a great flat area and set up their tents. Angel and her new friends chose to set their tents the farthest back, Mostly to avoid being too close to the rather big campfire. Since the group didn’t get the chance to introduce themselves before the hike started, due to a late start.  The guide decided gather everyone around the fire pit, to get more acquainted with each other.

After introductions were made one of the guys suggested to tell a scary story, seeing that its usually a campfire tradition. He then proceeded to tell a story about a girl lost in “these” woods , Angel just snickered at the story. A few of the girls and guys were a bit nervous about that cliché story, which ended with a lame “boo” from a random guy. One of the girls screamed, the others just jumped.

After a few more stories, people started to retire to their tents. The darkened trees gave a moan, as the wind caught there branches above. Angel started to feel tired and slightly unnerved by the ghost stories; the atmosphere helped that feeling too. “Hey, Theresa I’m going to bed. I’ll getting bored of these stories.” Angel whispers , “Gotcha, see in the morning” She replies and focuses her attention about to the person telling a new story.

As Angel walked away from the warm fire, she felt a chill run up her spine. The surrounds seemed to darken, but not because she was moving away from the fire but something else. The forest looked like it was changing, every tree seem to be watching her move. Angel feeling a bit more nervous quickly hopped into her tent and zipped it up tightly.

***
Angel changes into a warm night gown, and has fallen asleep quite easily, the covers of her sleeping bag covering her head as if to keep something out. However those unnerving feelings, stirred her from her sleep. The darkness assuring that it is defiantly still night out.  “What time it is?” She thought, reaching for her phone. Her hand searched the rough ground of the tent, until she hits her phone. She clicked the unlock button but nothing, the screen stayed blank. “Dang, is it out of juice? Oh well no need for a phone out here anyway.” She whispers, a  sound of shuffling outside her tent stole her attention.

“Oh is someone up still? “ she thinks, sitting up into a stretch. Another sound  but it sounded weird, maybe a shuffle. “Is there raccoons in our camp? Or!” Angels thoughts make her heart  jump, thinking that maybe it’s a bear or mountain lion that could be in camp. Another sound followed, a thumping sound. Like if someone tossed a bag of potatoes to the ground, Angel held her breath focus her hearing. “It has to be someone, it doesn’t sound like an animal.  There was a unzipping of a tent, confirming her thoughts. She sighed and relaxed a bit. Filling a bit more at easy, curious she quietly moved to the opening of her tent.

She slowly opened  her tent to avoid too much noise, then peeked out through the small opening. “What are they doing anyway?” she whispers,  that’s when she sees three figures outside of a tent, far in front of her line of sight. She felt her heart begin to beat quickly, fear running through her veins. Her eyes adjusted to the darkness, Slowly these dark figures to the form of men.

The fear worsen seeing a body from the tent, being dragged out. Her body started to shake, her breathing becoming rapid . That body was soon pulled to a line of more bodies,  They all seemed to still be asleep as if in a coma or some weird spell. “Are they even breathing? Who are these men?! What are they doing?! What do I do?!....should I scream???!” Her thoughts raced in her mind, the surroundings started to spin. Her voice stuck in her throat, she couldn't even let out a squeak.

She gripped tightly to her clothing, her body shaking even more. “Stop it! I need to do something!!” She snaps to herself. “If I don’t run for it, I’ll be stuck…and who knows what those guys are capable of….”  She takes a deep breath and peaks out once more. She gently opened the tent up slightly more, making little noise as possible. She waited for an open opportunity from them,  hoping for them all to look away. They got closer and closer to her tent. She could feel her heart beat faster as they neared,  but then someone who was already dragged out started stirring. They all froze, starring at the person. That's when Angel took a deep breath and made a break for it.

With a quick leap, she burst out of her tent. The zipper making a loud noise, upon her tent opening more. She begin to run as fast as she could, the opposite direction of the men. She manages to get a good distance away from them, She dodges tree branches that seem to reach out at her. She slows  down a bit to catch her breath, but after a few second she hears footsteps gaining closer to her. She panics and turns into the woods, the footsteps gaining up quickly. She takes a peek over her shoulders, seeing a masked man chasing after her and gaining fast.

Her whole body screams to run faster, the trees getting thicker the farther she runs. “I think I lost him!” she thinks to herself but  something grabs her collar and yank her down to the ground. She hits  with a loud thump, the wind knocked out of her. She winces in pain but quickly regains her thoughts. She elbows the man in the nose, taking him by surprise. She scrabbles to her feet  and runs for it again as the man gripped his face in pain.

She wasn't sure how far to run, but she continued on anyway. Finally her adrenaline rush stopped and so did she.  She collapsed down, panting rapidly. Her body shaking from a mixture of fear and fatigue. The forest , it seems to have gotten darker. The air felt thick and colder.  “Where’s the moon? or even the nocturnal animals? This forest is bizarre, there’s something wrong…… like its dead….”. Angel spun around, looking for signs of life or even a light.

The wind answered her desire for noise, the trees creaked too with the wind. The wind also carried a faint noise, a noise that didn't seem human or animal even.  A malicious chill ran up her spine, as she felt a presence behind her. She spun around, but nothing. She decided to start moving again, a crunching sound however caused her to freeze. She held her breath, but once again nothing. She didn’t take chances and started to sprint. She quickly became fatigued and slowed down.

Still pushing herself forward, she still felt the presence of something. This time she knew she heard something and whipped around. Nothing, only more creaking trees greeted her. She sighed and turned back around  to a pale blank face, Angel froze. Her enter being screamed to run away but she felt like stone  as the thing stared down at her. The monster gave off a vibe of death as it pierced into her soul, the air around becoming thin.

Her heart beat faster and faster, pounding in her chest. “What is it?! wha-“ her mind racing, too quickly for a thought to form completely. Its hand reached out for her,  She wanted to move or even scream but couldn't. It's like everything inside her had become solid stone, only  leaving her mind stuck in a heavy weight of an empty shell.  Loud noises clouded her mind, like static on a television. She screamed, or thought she did.

Her mind becoming a mess, feel helpless.  The monster wrapped  the hand around her neck, icy cold. Her neck burned, like dry ice was wrapped around her neck. Her Body was lifted  off her feet, airflow becoming impossible. She felt trapped in her body, suffering  mental and physical  torturing pain.  She felt her limpless body get squeezed of its very oxygen, it once held in her lungs. Her vision faded in and out as this demon squeezed tighter and tighter on her neck.  she couldn't make a sound nor look away from it. Her last glimpse being the demon, form even more terrifying features then darkness.

One single cough escaped her lungs, Angel began to wake again. Her neck felt stiff and her mind is foggy. She blinked a few times, a dark ceiling greeted her slowly recovering vision.  she felt something wet, warm and sticky around her. A weight laid on her torso and legs, her mind turned as she attempted to collect her thoughts.  Finally it hits her, and she quickly attempts to sit up but the weight prevented her. Her vision still wasn't clear, she tried to push whatever was on top of her off. A pain ripped up her left arm, “Ow! Fu-…..” She exclaimed, taking harsh breaths.  She gripped her left arm wrist, but something felt off . Something was wrong,  She felt her right hand on her wrist but she couldn't move her left hand. Angel lifts her left hand in front of her hazy eyes,  only to see nothing but a stub in its place.

Shocked, her scream caught in her throat painfully.  Adrenaline cleared her vision, she started to hyperventilate. She panics trying  to get up, like an animal stuck in a trap. She finally pulls herself free, she didn't take in her surrounding as she got to her feet. She took a step forward only to fall down again, now she realizes something terrible wrong with the room she was in. A twisted, bloody face stared at her, it’s expression in great agony.  A over powering stench of rotting flesh, filled her nose. She screams and pushes herself away.  Bloody and dismembered  bodies laid all around her, she was covered in them. Some had nothing but flesh, while other looked like they were freshly tossed into this room. Some in wholes, and others in pieces.

The rotting flesh caused her to gag, as she backed away to a wall. It was hard to tell but there had to be tons of bodies in the room. She couldn't breathe the air was riddled with death and decay, every breath was accompanied by gags. One of the bodies had no eyes, others had look like they had been ripped into two or impaled on something. Her whole body was soaked in the blood of those around her as well as her own. Her thoughts were absent, the eyes seemed to stare at her. She for a moment thought the bodies would sense that she was alive and try to tear her apart. Her mind shattered, even the missing hand was nothing but a dull buzz.

She couldn't stand the smell, but there was no way out. No signs of a door or a window, only her and the rotten corpses. She curled into a ball in a corner, screaming into her arm as she tried to pretend this wasn't real. Finally she lifts her head up again, making she the bodies weren't going to attack. That’s when she noticed, One of the bodies on top looked like Mark. She then starts to make out more people from the group of campers, she dry heaved and let out a tortured cry as she cradled her handless arm close to her.

She finally got up again, and attempted to feel for an exit of some sort. “someone….. help me….. please….”  she whimpers out, with every step she felt the squish of the rotting bodies under her.  It caused her to gag and freeze up, unable to move on forward. She gently touched her stub, noticing the exposed wound felt  like it was ripped off by something with immense heat. “No blood….” Is all she was able to add together, her mind still not together.

Angel grew restless, trying to forget the corpses and her hand as she cradled in a corner of the room again. A sound of metal caught her off guard, she grabs her mouth to prevent  screaming. A blinding light came pouring in, as a door across from her  and about 15 feet above opened up. She saw a men in doorway with something, He then tossed a pair of legs down along with the other half of the body. The door slams shut, the darkness once again covering the room. Angel felt herself gag, the body of Theresa laid in the middle of the pile. “How…was I not seen….” She mumbled to herself, then looked down at her blood soaked clothing.

She swallowed down her fear and disgust, and began to make her way to were the door was. That’s when she noticed a built-in metal ladder, just  above her head.  Without another hand to help,  there was no way she could pull herself up. She looked around and made a gut churning choice, but it was the only way to climb up. She slowly started dragging the corpses around her and piled them up. She had to stop to gap, then try to gain her composure again.

She felt extremely sickened as she stepped on the bodies and reached for the ladder. luckily she was able to pull herself up. Next step was harder though, the ladder was a sticky, cold mess and with only one hand she had to use her left arm to prop herself up. Remains only made the climb harder, as she would loss her footing.

Angel  struggled up until finally she climbed to the level of the door, but there was only about two inches of room on the ledge for her . The only way up is to lift herself to the handle on her right about two feet above the last ladder step.  She pressed her head against the metal, trying to gather her strength.

She struggled up to reach it and failed. There is no way to hold on to the step ladder and reach for the side handle. The only other option she could do, is to launch up and try to grab the handle, but this required her to release her left arm from the metal bar. Taking a deep breath,  she grabs the metal step with her hand and releases her left arm. Taking another deep breath she stared at the handle that beckoned to her.  She bit her lip, her heart pounding in anticipation.  She pushes upward, wrapping her hand around the handle but what she wasn't expecting  the blood there. This caused her  hand to slip off,  quickly she grabs the handle in a new spot and catches herself.

Angel felt her heart pound in her chest as she gave the handle a death grip, and then sighed. Thankful that she didn't fall back into the pit of rotten flesh below her, her body shaking from the near drop. She Pulls herself up onto the small ledge in front of her. She went to grab the handle with her left hand but stopped realizing the error. Her heart sank, looking at the stub then moved around.  Her left arm  now around the side handle, holding her up. She reaches awkwardly for the knob, managing to turn it.

She looked around the now  dark, eerie hall, seeing no signs of anyone. ”where….where is this? NO that’s not important!!” She takes one more look and makes her way left.  Slowly she walked through the hall, the walls looking like the place was abandoned.  It creaked loudly, sounding like it could collapse at any second. She hears a noise come from the other side of the hallway, she panics and ducks into the first door she finds, Slowly she closes the door, the footsteps still coming closer. She looked around to see, she entered  a somewhat empty room. She can hear the footsteps come closer to her location. Panicking she runs over to the bed in the corner and crawls under it.

She hears the footsteps stop to the door then the turning of the handle. To her fear she watches the door open and  pair feet step into the room. She covers her mouth hoping whoever was there, wouldn't hear her heavy breathing. The feet walk over to the bed slowly, each step echoing in her ears. Angel felt her heart sink, hoping he would just stop and walk away.

The figure stops  at the bed, fearing the worse Angel just stayed still waiting for it to get her.  Instead the feet turn away , and the bed shakes.  The feet disappear as the person lays down, She held her breath hoping to stay silent.  “Oh shi-…….what do I do?!” Say screams in her head, She manages to calms herself  down a bit. Something catches her attention, to her right there’s something. She quietly reaches out and grabs onto it. She realizes it’s made of metal, maybe a knife. She grips it tightly, getting ready for any fight she would encounter.

The bed above her shift then goes quiet again. She lays there for what feels like forever,  her thoughts going back and forth on whether she should leave. She couldn't stand to wait any longer and she slowly begins to slide out from under the bed. She manages to pull herself out, but before she could even move away she hear the bed harshly squeak and a hand grabbing her left arm. She yells  and turns  to face a man with a shrouded face. She painfully yanks her stub out of his grasp, catching him by surprise. Angel pointed the metal object , and dug it deep into the man's arm. This causing him to fall off the bed and onto the floor.

She rips the metal object  back out of his arm and turned to run but is stooped. A masked  man is standing in the doorway, this time she lungs for the man and swings. He ducks out of the way and went over to his companion. They both then stared at her as she holds up the object in a threatening manner. "Stay away!" Angel yells, Her hand shaking wildly in fear. They didn't attempt to move or stop her, they just stared.

Angel feels a presence of someone behind her, wincing in pain. A monstrous, deep voice speaks in her mind "How are you alive? I felt you die in my hands, your weak heart stopped beating." Before Angel could even react,  she feels something violently stab into her heart.  Looking down, she sees some kind of black appendage  protruding  out of her body. With a last attempt to live, she drops the metal object  and grabs the thing in her chest. Her mind not thinking clear anymore,  "You just won't want to die without a fight huh?, I need a fighter like you…." the voice says  violently in her mind. A burning sensation runs through her body, before she collapses.

….

Angel blinks to the sunlight in her eyes, the light burning painfully. Her head feeling fuzzy and dull.  She lift herself off of the bed she was on and walk over to a mirror. Her green eyes look dull, and her once light hair had been stained blood red, her overall appearance looked ghostly. She lifted her hands up  and touched the mirror. She froze, letting her memories flow back to what had happened last. She Notices a hole like scar, where her hear is. She remembered the night so clearly, Her left hand now clearly in front of her. She then hears a voice behind her, breaking her thoughts.

"Your hand is back, even I don’ know why. “ A man's voice came in, she looked into the mirror glaring at a man in a mask. "It all comes clear to me…." Angel says, staring at her hand. “Yeah…” He says and leaves her with her thoughts. Angel stares into the mirror, looking over herself. "Something's change and it isn't just my hand."  Angel whispers and then begins to laugh like a mad man.  Then stabs her left hand into the mirror, breaking it into pieces .  A glare facing the mirrors reflection "This Angel is dead…" she glares, her wide eyes staring into the broken mirror as the last of her hope extinguished away. “I kill…I kill the Angels now. I’ll set them free…..”
This is the back story to my picture "meet the proxy" , I know this doesn't follow typical proxy standards. (I.E. human, can be killed easily, etc.)
I more or less say she's a semi-phantom thing.

Edit 1/7/15: Finally done with this rough draft, fixed a lot of the odd phrasing. Though I still have a lot more editing to do.
Thanks to :iconbendrowned-ebooks: for giving me advice on how to improve the story. Hopefully I can get it perfect or close to it >.<

I hope you enjoyed and if you did let me know :O <3

I've finally decided on an Name! Angel Killer... (She kills the innocent after all...or rather sends them to get killed. )

6/19/15: I've changed her calling name to Bleeding Angel, getting rid of the killer part.
